Note from the Founders

We are a production company committed to bold, human storytelling. We exist to champion new writing that sits in the uncomfortable, honest spaces of life. The stories that don’t always shout, but linger. The ones that ask audiences to lean in, reflect, and maybe see something differently in themselves or the world around them.

We are drawn to work that is emotionally intelligent, socially conscious and unafraid of complexity. Stories that centre lived experience, particularly voices that are often unheard or simplified. Our approach is collaborative and agile, creating space for writers, directors and performers to take creative risks while feeling supported and held.

At the heart of everything we do is a belief that theatre can be both intimate and impactful. That it can spark conversation, create connection, and quietly challenge assumptions long after the lights go down.

Bindweed captured us almost immediately. There was something in its restraint, its honesty, and its refusal to over-explain that felt deeply truthful. Martha Loader’s writing trusts the audience. It allows silence, subtext and contradiction to do the work, mirroring the way real lives and real relationships unfold.

We were drawn to how Bindweed explores themes of control, entanglement and survival without ever becoming didactic. The play doesn’t offer neat resolutions or easy answers. Instead, it sits with discomfort, asking us to consider how people become bound to situations, to others, and sometimes to versions of themselves they are trying to outgrow.

This is exactly the kind of work we want to bring into the world. A play that is quietly powerful, led by character rather than spectacle, and brave enough to trust its audience. Bindweed aligns with our commitment to new writing that is thoughtful, unsettling in the right ways, and rooted in emotional truth.

We are proud to be part of this play’s journey and excited to share it with you.
